Intro to ORCiD and OAKSORCID is a universal digital identifier that distinguishes researchers and ensures that their professional work is recognized. This season will cover creation of an ORCiD ID, how to add works, and how to use it for scholarly communication. Institutional repositories (IRs) collect, preserve, and disseminate the research and creative output of an institution. Examples of this output include, but are not limited to, research papers, datasets, conference proceedings, symposium papers and posters, peer-reviewed journals, creative works, and collections of other digital or digitized objects and documents. OAKS, which stands for Open Access Kent State, is Kent State’s IR. Learn about how using and contributing to OAKS can help grow your research and creative endeavors. |
Digitization 101This session will cover the basics of digitization including benchmarks and best practices. However big or small your digital scholarship project may be, it’s important to have standards in place at the onset of the project. Session will also cover platform choice and long-term preservation issues for digital media. |
Open Access and Creative Commons LicensingSlide deck for Introduction to Open Access and Creative Commons Licensing, part of the UL Digital Scholarship Series. Presented February 12, 2021.
