An "Oriental Chef" cooking course is offered through Continuing Education. A lecture hall is dedicated to a former Stark administrator. A reporter reviews the many leisure offerings on campus for a student bored between classes.

The Student Activities Council plans a classic film series. An article reviews the popularity of Canton band The Catch, made up in part by Stark students. The women's basketball team wins the Ohio Regional Campus Tournament for the second year in a row.

A Stark graduate becomes the first female deputy in the Stark County Sheriff's department. Artwork by a Trumbull campus professor will be on display in the art gallery. The Stark campus plans to host the Midwest Writers' Conference in the fall.

As the academic year ends, summer fun is a popular topic in the pages of this issue. Retiring faculty, winners of the Distinguished Teaching Award, and the editor of the Chronicle all receive spotlights.

The Stark campus has the highest enrollment of the Kent regional campuses with a student body of 2,979. Despite the rise, only 93 students partook in the recent student government elections.

The Chronicle makes changes to its format and reevaluates its purpose. The World Hunger Talent Show is sponsored by several Stark campus organizations and raises donations of canned goods. Photos from the recent Halloween party are featured on page four.

The results of a University of California survey of Stark freshmen are published. The theatre's production of "West Side Story" has the largest cast of any Stark production. The director of the Stark County Humane Society is interviewed about animal adoption.
