Kent Find- Campus Navigation AppKent Find is an all-inclusive navigation app with the intention of helping users navigate campus seamlessly, while also having security measures built in place. There is a lack of proper guidance map-wise around campus as well as within the buildings themselves. Incoming freshmen, visitors, students, and faculty are overwhelmed by the size of the campus, leading to a sense of vulnerability and hopelessness. Rather than letting members of the Kent community turn their backs on us as a result, we are proposing a new way to embrace them. This app allows users to seamlessly navigate the exterior and interior of Kent's campus. By providing the resources to navigate directly to classrooms across campus, Kent Find eases the mind of anyone who has ever felt lost on campus. Additionally, it will work with Kent security services to increase security measures on campus using a trigger-help alert to protect its users. Kent State is home to all, therefore it should provide a sense of security to anyone who visits. Flashes take care of Flashes, from the moment they step on campus until the moment they leave. |
Internal Combustion Engine Performance Study under Non-traditional Operating Conditions
For optimal engine performance engineers have find ways to balance the forces produced by rotational masses and reciprocating masses. If the forces on an engine are not balanced then, certain vibrations are produced that could reduce the longevity of an engine. Using an Internal Combustion Engine Simulator using multiple accelerometers acquired at multiple points along the simulator are used to diagnose any irregularities in the engine by the vibrations measured in the engine. A series of test were carried out on a Four-Cylinder Internal Combustion Engine Simulator under various conditions. The data collected is acquired as the test are carried out in real-time. Since unbalanced forces produce certain vibrations at certain frequencies the data is used to measure such vibrations. The focus of this experiment is correlating a balanced engine operating at normal conditions to engines that have some sort of fault or are unbalanced. The results of this work will provide some insight on dynamic forces acting on engine and how they can affect performance and also show the importance of using simulators to carry out such experiments.
