Black Squirrel Scholars is the literary journal of Kent State Columbiana - East Liverpool & Salem – and it features a variety of critical and creative works, both textual and visual. Our journal is issued annually, and submissions are open to all Kent State undergraduates. This publication highlights the importance of the arts and humanities to all disciplines and environments, supporting student expression to foster a culture of regional literacy.   

Timeline to submit issues: 

Students can submit during the summer and fall semesters. The journal is published annually during the spring semester, typically in April or May.
