Ashley Casterline is a sophomore at Kent State Stark majoring in mild/moderate special education teaching specializing in math and reading. Her career goals are to be teaching at the high school level, getting a master’s degree and to get a minor in fine art as well. She is a member of the Honors College and plans to graduate with Honors. She graduated in 2015 from Perry High School and while there was awarded six Scholastic Silver Keys and two Honorable Mentions, two Honorable Mentions from the Canton Museum of Art, as well as winning the Governor’s Award for her piece “Unleash the Beast” which is on display here. This artwork was created for AP Studio Art, a college art course, where she had a theme for 12 pieces (in her series it was water) and 12 that could be anything.
