Abstract |
In this panel, students will present their textual analyses of the gender messages embedded in four pieces of popular media. By analyzing the dynamics of characters within media, conclusions can be drawn about the usefulness of media in current society. Hannah Churilla is majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Applied Communication. She plans to graduate in May with her Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State. Hannah hopes to work in communications and publicity in the entertainment industry.
Ashley Goff is majoring in Communication Studies with a focus in Applied Communication. She plans to pursue a Master’s of Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel at Kent State University. Ashley hopes to work in advising to assist future students in their academic endeavors.
Cody Silverthorn is currently attending Kent State Stark while pursuing a degree in Interpersonal Communication. He plans to transfer to The Ohio State University next year to finish his bachelor’s degree. He is strongly considering a master’s degree in the future.
