Abstract |
Note taking skills can be an important part of performing well in college. In this study we want to investigate if mind wandering helps students’ ability to take more notes and if using a laptop to take notes affects their concentration. This is important to understand so we can improve our note taking skills to be more successful in college. We used an anonymous online survey to collect data in order to understand people’s note taking habits. We hypothesize that people who frequently mind wander will take more notes; also, people who take notes on a laptop are more likely to mind wander. Our study has been approved by the Kent State IRB and the data collection is ongoing.
