Introduction to the Inaugural Editorial
Kent State University’s Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is proud to present the first issue of our open access online journal, Trends in Diversity.
As the landscape of higher education permeates with discourse pertaining to issues of disenfranchisement toward historically underrepresented communities and marginalized groups, we thought this would be an opportune moment to join the dialogue with a new voice and approach to revealing what is taking place in higher education. It is the purpose of Trends in Diversity to provide a platform for intellectual dialogue and exploration of emerging and transformative issues of equity and diversity in higher education.
Profound thanks go first to Alfreda Brown and Dana Andric-Lawless. Their vision provided the blueprint for the Journal. A special thank you to Edward Collins who provided initial direction for the Journal. Last, but certainly not least, our Editorial Assistant, Gina Campana in assisting in the development and production of the publication.
Sincerely,
